Alexandra Maria Lara has been a Romanian/German television and film actress for over a decade. Alexandra is known for parts in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Being the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu. Alexandra began her showbiz career as a child. She played lead roles in television dramas as early as 16 years old. In the Oscar nominated film Downfall her character as Secretary Traudljunge, Adolf Hitler's secretary was also critically acclaimed. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are the other Oscar nominated features featuring female stars. Alexandra was involved in many important projects both locally as well as internationally. One of these is the British biographical documentary Control, the Greek movie The Dust of Time, and French historic miniseries Napoleon. Also, she was in the jury panel of the Transylvania International Film Festival, as well as at the Cannes Film Festival.
